Port of Vancouver set to mark centennial
Friday, January 27, 2012
The Port of Vancouver launched its centennial website on Thursday in an effort to share its 100-year history with the public.
Founded on April 6, 1912, the port has served as a gateway to international trade, and as a major hub of marine and industrial development.
The website’s theme is “A Century of Possibilities.” As part of the port’s yearlong celebration, the website invites visitors to share their personal stories and photographs of the port by clicking the “Send us your port memory” icon.
Visit the website by going to www.portvanusa.com/centennial, or by going to www.portvanusa.com and clicking on the centennial website icon on the front page. Comments also can be emailed to the port at info@portvanusa.com.
