MALIBU, Calif. (AP) — Jordan Baker scored 15 points and Taylor Darby added 14 to lead Pepperdine to a 74-62 victory against Santa Clara on Saturday night.

In a matchup of teams with eight-game losing streaks, the Waves (8-13, 2-8 West Coast) snapped their drought while extending the Broncos’ misery.

Evan Roquemore scored 15 points and Raymond Cowels III and Brandon Clark added 12 apiece for Santa Clara (8-13, 0-8).

The Broncos played without the WCC’s leading scorer, Kevin Foster, for a third straight game following his arrest on suspicion of drunken driving on Jan. 22.

Corbin Moore added 11 points and 10 rebounds, and Joshua Lowery had 13 points for Pepperdine.

Darby had 12 of his points in the second half.

The Waves took a double-digit lead for good after a 9-1 run made it 55-43 with 712 minutes remaining.
