DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (AP) — Michael Shank Racing was in control of the Rolex 24 at Daytona as the sun came up in the prestigious sports car race.

IndyCar driver Justin Wilson had the Ford Riley out front Sunday morning, and with just over six hours to go has given MSR a comfortable lead over the defending race winning team from Chip Ganassi Racing.

Joey Hand is currently driving for CGR, which is trailing the Shank entry by over 26 seconds.

The second Ganassi entry is four laps off the pace with NASCAR driver Juan Pablo Montoya behind the wheel. The car was strong during the night but went six laps down when the shifter broke while IndyCar driver Scott Dixon was at the wheel.

Only two Daytona Prototypes are on the lead lap.
