St. Francis (NY) rallies past Robert Morris 81-68

MOON TOWNSHIP, Pa. (AP) — Brent Jones scored 16 points and Jalen Cannon 12 in the second half to lead St. Francis (NY) past Robert Morris 81-68 on Saturday night.

The Terriers (11-10, 8-2 Northeast Conference) trailed 31-30 at halftime and 41-35 with 15:33 remaining. They then outscored the Colonials 19-3 over the next 6:21 to take a 54-44 lead on Jones’ 3 with 9:12 to play.

St. Francis outscored Robert Morris 51-37 in the second half, holding the Colonials to 27.8-percent shooting (10 of 36) in the final 20 minutes.

Jones finished with 19 points and Cannon added 13 points and 11 rebounds as St. Francis won its fifth straight and seven out of eight.

Travis Nichols chipped in 16 points and Ben Mockford 10 for the Terriers, who shot 52.2 percent (24 of 46).

Velton Jones led the Colonials (16-7, 7-3) with 21 points and Coron Williams added 15.
