W Illinois triumphs 57-55 on freshman’s 3-pointer

MACOMB, Ill. (AP) — Freshman Remy Roberts-Burnett drilled a 3-pointer with 0.5 seconds left to send Western Illinois to a 57-55 win over IUPUI on Saturday night.

Roberts-Burnett had 11 points off the bench for Western Illinois (12-8, 6-5 Summit).

Alex Young led all scorers with 22 points for IUPUI (8-15, 2-9). Ceola Clark led Western Illinois with 22 points, nine rebounds and eight assists.

Young hit a 15-foot jumper with about two minutes to go to give IUPUI a 55-54 lead.

Terell Parks scored 14 for Western Illinois, and Obi Emegano added 10.

Christian Siakam scored 16 points and grabbed eight rebounds for IUPUI.
