Arrest in New Year's Eve shooting in Forest Grove

FOREST GROVE, Ore. (AP) -- Police have arrested a man in the New Year's Eve shooting that injured a 7-year-old boy in Forest Grove.
Police say a 33-year-old Cornelius man admitted he fired a handgun to celebrate the new year but thought the bullets were hitting the ground. He was arrested Sunday on charges of unlawful use of a weapon and reckless endangering.
A 23-year-old Hillsboro man also was arrested Sunday and booked into the Washington County Jail on charges of witness tampering in the case.
The injured boy is expected to make a full recovery.
