Crowell leads Wofford past Western Carolina 82-56

SPARTANBURG, S.C. (AP) — Drew Crowell scored 19 points, leading four Wofford players in double figures, as the Terriers rolled over Western Carolina 82-56 Monday night for their sixth consecutive victory.

Crowell made 9 of 11 shots for the Terriers (15-8, 8-3 Southern Conference), who made 59.3 percent of their shots, including 64.3 percent (18 of 28) in the second half.

Wofford made 10 of 19 3-pointers to Western Carolina’s 2 of 14.

Wofford led 31-19 at halftime, and by 20 points, 58-38, after a jumper by Brad Loesing with 9:35 remaining.

Karl Cochran finished with 16 points for Wofford, Loesing had 14 points and 10 rebounds, and Kevin Giltner added 13 points.

Trey Sumler scored 13 points and Tawaski King 12 to pace Western Carolina (9-14, 3-7), which defeated Wofford 67-57 on Jan. 7 but has now lost four in a row.

Both teams were playing their third game in five days.
