Investigators with the Major Crimes Unit of the Clark County Sheriff’s Office are continuing the investigation into the fatal shooting of Barry Parnel outside a La Center home on Jan. 24.
The incident began unfolding just after 12:30 a.m. Jan. 24 when a man called 911 to report a prowler outside his home at 33506 N.W. 11th Court, off Pacific Highway. About two minutes later, the dispatcher was told the suspect was shot outside the home, according to dispatch logs.
Parnel, 29, was later identified as the suspected prowler. He died in the hospital later that day, police said.
Police identified Leland Larsen, 59, as the homeowner who shot Parnel.
Detective Sgt. Kevin Allais on Monday said the investigation is ongoing.
