Lloyd Halverson, the first city administrator in Camas’ history, will relinquish his full-time duties with the city at the end of September, he said Tuesday.

Halverson, 65, has served as Camas’ city administrator since May 1989. He first announced his retirement Friday during the city’s annual retreat.

The city will begin recruiting a full-time successor this spring, Halverson said Tuesday. He plans to continue part-time with the city through March 2013.

Halverson made $126,450 in 2011. He was scheduled to make $127,625 in 2012, if he had worked full-time the entire year. His pension will be based on a formula that takes into account his -salary and years of service.
