Portland police arrest Vancouver man on suspicion of burglary

21-year-old Joshua Wayne Stamper, of Vancouver, was booked into the Multnomah County Jail on charges of Burglary in the Second Degree and Criminal Mischief in the First Degree.

A Vancouver man was arrested Sunday morning after Portland police accused him of ransacking Kush Handmade Rugs, 205 N.W. 10th Ave.

Police arrived at 5:15 a.m. Witnesses said a man broke the front window and had been in the business breaking vases, trashing the bathroom and destroying merchandise.

Damage was estimated at $5,000.

From a description, police arrested Joshua Wayne Stamper, 21, at Northwest Ninth Avenue and Couch Street.

He was arrested on suspicion of second-degree burglary and first-degree criminal mischief.

Stamper was in the Multnomah County Jail on Sunday night with bail set at $10,000.
