Vancouver Police are looking for a suspect in connection with a cash register theft committed at an area thrift store. A woman called 911, saying she saw a man run out of Charity Thrift Store with the cash register Friday afternoon, according to Vancouver Police Cmdr. Dave King.

The man came in the store at 2519 E. Fourth Plain Blvd. wearing a mask and ripped out the cash register, according to King. The employees were not behind the cash register at the time and didn’t see the man, said another witness. A few minutes later the store owner called to report her cash register was stolen.

The man got into the passenger side of a white Ford Contour with tinted windows parked around the corner. A driver and potentially another passenger were in the car, according a witness.

Vancouver police in the area are looking for the suspect’s vehicle. This story will be updated as we learn more information.
