At least 14 arrested over holiday on suspicion of drunken driving

Regionally, more 200 arrests on DUI, other infractions

Local law enforcement officers arrested at least 14 people on suspicion of driving under the influence during the Fourth of July festivities.

Washington State Patrol Trooper Ryan Tanner said his agency arrested six people in Clark County on suspicion of DUI between 4 p.m. Tuesday and 4 a.m. Friday. One of the arrests was connected to a crash, he said.

Vancouver police arrested seven in the same time period on suspicion of DUI, said Vancouver police Cmdr. Dave King. Clark County sheriff’s deputies made one DUI arrest on July 4, said Sgt. Fred Neiman.

Sheriff’s offices from Clark County and Clackamas, Marion, Multnomah, Washington and Yamhill counties in Oregon arrested 27 DUI drivers between midnight Tuesday and 7 a.m. Thursday, according to a regional bulletin. They also issued more than 190 citations for infractions including no seatbelt, no operator’s license, driving while suspended, speeding and careless driving, the bulletin said.
