Four people were injured in a two-car crash early Thursday morning on the southbound Interstate 5 Bridge, said a Washington State Patrol bulletin.

Robert Chamblee’s 2008 Chevy HHR LS collided with Beatriz Rodriguez’s 2002 Honda Accord when Rodriguez stopped for traffic on the Vancouver side of the bridge around 6:30 a.m.

Chamblee, 37, was transported to a local hospital for a sore back and later released. Rodriguez, 29, was transported to PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center for a sore neck and released later that morning.

Two of Rodriguez’s three passengers were also injured. Brianna Rodriguez, 6, went to an area hospital for a sore chest and Ashley Rodriguez, 3, was driven to a hospital for a sore neck. Her third passenger, Juan Gonzalez, 30, was uninjured.

The cause of the crash was driver inattention, and Chamblee was cited for following too closely, according to the bulletin.

Damage to the Chevy is estimated at $1,000 and it was towed from the scene. The Honda sustained about $750 in damage.
