Letter: Some cleaned up after fireworks

The Columbian
Published: July 11, 2012, 5:00pm

I am not anti-fireworks, but I will give credit to my neighbors in Battle Ground. Yes, the blasting went on and on, but they cleaned up their mess afterward, as they do every year. The letters to the editor page gets the same screaming and yelling of firework complaints every year: “You’re unpatriotic” and so on.

Fireworks are costly, but you wouldn’t know it by the quantity blown up each year. Alcohol and tobacco are also expensive, but many people use the two every day.

Yes , fireworks are for the Fourth of July, but people start lighting them in late June, and it continues into Week 2 of July. I hope you and family enjoyed yourselves. I’ll listen for you again next year.
