ANAHEIM, Calif. (AP) — The Anaheim Ducks have re-signed center Nick Bonino to a two-year, $1.4 million deal, avoiding arbitration.

The Ducks announced the deal Friday.

Bonino had five goals and 13 assists in 50 games last season with the Ducks, setting career highs in each category while playing mostly on their depth lines. He has spent parts of the past three seasons with Anaheim since leaving Boston University after his junior year.

The 24-year-old Connecticut native is a product of Avon Old Farms, the prep school that produced Conn Smythe winners Brian Leetch and Jonathan Quick.

The Ducks and Bonino had an arbitration hearing scheduled for Aug. 3.
