Insitu Pacific, the Australia-based subsidiary of Bingen-based Insitu Inc., announced Thursday it has extended and expanded its existing contract with the Australian Army to include the use of its ScanEagle unmanned aircraft system for trials with the Royal Australian Navy.
ScanEagle will be installed on a number of Royal Australian Navy vessels, with a flight trial scheduled for September, the company said in a statement today. Insitu says its unmanned aircraft have accumulated nearly 25,000 shipboard flight hours on navy ships worldwide.
