Work slated on state Highway 14 in Skamania County

A paving and guardrail project on state Highway 14 will cause traffic delays this summer between the Clark County-Skamania County line and Prindle Road.

Crews with Kerr Construction Inc. of Woodburn, Ore., begin work Monday. Work is scheduled for 20 hours a day Monday through Thursday in order to complete the project by October.

Drivers should expect lane closures and 20-minute delays between 7 a.m. and 3 a.m.

The $2.5 million project’s purpose is to preserve the scenic highway by grinding out 5 miles of old pavement and laying fresh asphalt. Crews also will install upgraded guardrail.
