ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. (AP) — Boston Red Sox right-hander Clay Buchholz has re-joined the rotation after being sidelined by a stomach illness.
Buchholz was activated from the 15-day disabled list before Saturday night’s game at Tampa Bay. He last pitched on June 19.
To make room on the 25-man roster, infielder Mauro Gomez was optioned to Triple-A Pawtucket.
