Counterparty wins Belmont's closing day feature

NEW YORK (AP) -- Counterparty, the 9-5 favorite, beat Adjacent by a half length in the $79,000 allowance feature for fillies and mares on the turf, the closing day feature on Sunday at Belmont Park.

Javier Castellano guided the 4-year-old trained by Todd Pletcher to her third win in five starts. The time was 1:34.65 for the one mile on the firm course.

Counterparty paid $5.70, $3.90 and $2.80. Adjacent returned $8.40 and $6.40 while Sylvestris paid $2.80 to show.

New York racing shifts to Saratoga on Friday.
