Skyridge Middle School recently acknowledged several students who have contributed to the school and its students.

The awards are presented annually in conjunction with the Jack, Will and Rob Center Sustaining Fund and the Community Foundation for Southwest Washington.

The 2011-12 recipient of the Good Will Award is Hannah Taie. According to a press release, as a seventh-grader Hannah consistently acted with integrity and stood out as a highly sensitive, caring and compassionate individual.

“She always has a smile and positive attitude to share with others. Hannah is always eager to help in any given situation and wonderful at engaging students in activities whether in the classroom, track events or simply around the campus. She is a hard worker and strives to go ‘above and beyond.’”

This year the Jackson Leadership Award is shared by Andrew Carson and Noah White. According to the press release, as friends and classmates of the exiting Skyridge class, they shared a common bond of strong leadership skills and willingness to help others.

Andrew demonstrated genuine caring for others each day as ASB president and was greatly respected by staff and students, according to the release.

“He is a true leader and role model and encourages others to make difference.”

Noah is an exceptional student and leader, according to the release, and willingly accepts responsibilities without requiring reward or accolades.

“He consistently takes the high road and exhibits leadership daily by modeling good behavior, accepting responsibilities and helping others. He is trustworthy, respectful and always shows compassion toward others.”
