Vancouver Lake -- More than 50 friends, family members and colleagues picnicked at the lake on Independence Day to celebrate Dr. John Soelling's 90th birthday. Soelling recently retired from the practice of gastroenterology with Hudson's Bay Medical Group, which he joined in 1961. He had previously served with the U.S. Army in postwar Germany and at the former Barnes Veterans Hospital in Vancouver starting in 1952. He is still active in the Clark County Medical Society, where he was recently selected as president-elect.
