Northeast Hazel Dell -- Despite rain and mud, 10 volunteers spent three hours June 23 cleaning up the undeveloped section of the new Luke Jensen Sports Park near King's Way Christian School. Assisted by Clark County Public Works staff, volunteers removed litter and woody debris from the park and pulled invasive English ivy from trees. It was the seventh volunteer event aiming to keep the park clean. "Much work remains to be done at the park, but volunteers have made a tremendous impact," said Karen Llewellyn, volunteer coordinator Public Works. There'll be more opportunities this fall; visit http://parkhero.org for more information on volunteering to help out with Clark County's parks and trails.
