PHOENIX (AP) — The Arizona Diamondbacks have activated right-hander Takashi Saito from the 15-day disabled list and optioned right-hander Jonathan Albaladejo to Triple-A Reno.
The 42-year-old Saito has been on the DL all season with a strained right calf. He will be the first Japanese player to pitch for the Diamondbacks when he appears in a game. Albaladejo was 0-0 with a 9.00 ERA in three innings for Arizona.
