WARSAW, Poland (AP) — Polish road cyclist and medal hopeful Maja Wloszczowska says she may have to skip the London Olympics because of a foot injury.

The 2010 world champion and Beijing silver medalist was undergoing tests Monday at a clinic in the southern Polish town of Bierun that could help determine whether she can compete at the Olympics, which open Friday.

She says that if the tests show that she will not be able to fight for a medal “it will make no sense for me to go” to London.

The 28-year-old cyclist injured her right foot Friday during training in Livigno, Italy.
