SAN DIEGO (AP) — The Padres have activated left-handed pitcher Eric Stults from the 15-day disabled list, and optioned right-hander Nick Vincent to Triple-A Tucson.

Stults had been sidelined with a strained lower back muscle since June 6. In four starts for the Padres, Stults has gone 1-2 with a 3.33 ERA. San Diego claimed Stults off waivers from the Chicago White Sox on May 17.

Vincent has made seven relief appearances during two stints with the Padres, going 1-0 with a 4.50 ERA. The rookie earned his first major league win on June 28 and has pitched for both Double-A San Antonio and Tucson this season.
