Legacy offers ‘Thriving Beyond Cancer’ class for women

Legacy Salmon Creek Breast Health Center and the nonprofit Breast Friends will offer a two-day workshop for women at or near the end of their cancer treatment.

The “Thriving Beyond Cancer” workshop is designed to help cancer survivors develop a renewed sense of purpose and set goals fro the future. Enrollment is limited to 12 women.

The workshop is from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 2 and 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday, Aug. 3 at Legacy Salmon Creek Medical Center conference room B, 2211 N.E. 139th St. in Vancouver.

Cost for the workshop is $49, which includes lunch both days and a workbook for the class.

To register, call 888-386-8048. Deadline to register is July 30.

Later in the year, Legacy and Breast Friends will team up to offer another workshop, HOPE (Helping Others Provide Empathy) for women newly diagnosed with cancer, their friends and family.
