Letter: Eagle Scout protests policy

The Columbian
Published: July 23, 2012, 5:00pm

Shame on the Boy Scouts of America for denying gay young men from entering the Boy Scouts. I am not gay, but think this is a shameful decision.

I am giving back my Eagle Scout Award and my brother’s Eagle Scout Award as well in protest of this decision. My younger brother not only was proud to achieve the award of Eagle Scout, but went on to become a medical doctor as well. Sadly, he died of HIV/AIDS and I am sure he would join me in this protest.
