Camas Burgerville is now offering free live music every Saturday through Sept. 1.

The “Summer Songwriter’s Showcase” continues this week with Vagabond Tramp, playing “He and She Americana” style music.

“It’s something we are testing to see how our customers like it,” said Burgerville General Manager Eric Starr. “Four other Burgerville restaurants are doing something similar.”

The showcase of regional artists who are all active in the Portland-Metro area music scene will be held each week from 6 to 8 p.m.

Other upcoming performances will include Kirby Swatosh (“Sunshine 70s Space Age Folk Rock”) on Aug. 4, Vagabond & Tramp on Aug. 11, Justin Jude (“Folk-Pop Phenomenon”) on Aug. 18, Dan Haley is Mr. Casual (“Fab/Rustic Art-Pop”) on Aug. 25, and Kirby Swatosh on Sept. 1.

The acts set up inside the restaurant, in an intimate setting.

“This is another foray into extending our local ethic, beyond just sourcing our food,” Starr said. “It definitely has the possibility to be a success. It’s got to build a following.”

Burgerville is located at 518 N.E. Third Ave., in Downtown Camas. For more information, call 834-3289 or visit www.facebook.com/BurgervilleCamas.
