PHOENIX (AP) — Sentencing has been postponed for the former Fiesta Bowl chief executive, who admitted involvement in an illegal campaign contribution scheme.

John Junker was scheduled to be sentenced this month in state and federal court.

But The Arizona Republic reports (http://bit.ly/N2efuz ) his attorneys sought a delay because Junker is cooperating in the state investigation.

Prosecutors agreed to push back the sentences to Nov. 26 in U.S. District Court and Nov. 30 in Maricopa County Superior Court.

Junker was fired in March 2011 for leading a conspiracy in which bowl employees were reimbursed for political-campaign donations. Prosecutors say he also spent bowl money on strippers, golf club memberships and other personal expenses.

Junker pleaded guilty to state and federal conspiracy charges. He faces up to 2 1/2 years in prison.
