A registered nurse at Legacy Salmon Creek Medical Center has been selected as a finalist for the Nurse.com Nursing Excellence awards.

Cheryl Forry is the intensive care unit manager and patient flow nurse at the hospital. She was nominated for her work in patient and staff management.

Forry is the clinical manager of a 16-bed critical care unit at Legacy. She was instrumental in developing the hospital’s stroke program and chaired the team that developed the hospital’s surviving sepsis protocol. Her work as co-chair for the pneumonia improvement project received Legacy Health’s John King Award for Clinical Excellence in 2011.

Finalists were selected from thousands of nominations from their peers. National and regional winners will be announced in August.
