This year the Clark County Fair is recognizing Louise Owen , a 29-year volunteer for the fair. Ms. Owen has been a Director representing Small Animals since 1996 and a 4-H leader for 29 years in poultry area with her husband David who is now deceased. She has served as an officer in various capacities on the 4-H Leaders Board over the past 14 years. Additionally she was the oordinator for the annual 4-H in Action/4-H Jamboree held at the Clark County Fairgrounds for several years. “My involvement has always been about the kids and youth involved,” noted Owen. “It just gives me so much joy when so many fair goers come to see the amazing exhibits, displays and animals the kids were responsible in creating or rising.”
Ms Owen has also served as Secretary of the Fair Board and serves on the following committees: Ag/Ed Community Involvement, Executive, Fair Setup, Premium Awards/Livestock, Scholarship and JLA and has been Secretary of the JLA for the past four years. In addition, she has clerked in one capacity or another at the JLA for the past 20 years and assisted at the buffet. Because of her outstanding service she received a lifetime pass in 2005. This past year she took on the leadership and organization of the CCF Youth Advisors. Thank you Louise for all you do!
