Two people were injured late Sunday in a speed-related crash just north of the Glenn Jackson Bridge, the Washington State Patrol said.

The crash happened just before 10:15 p.m. on Interstate 205 southbound. A 2007 Toyota Prius driven by Erika S. Voznyak, 19, of Portland was in the left lane behind a 2001 Hyundai Sonata driven by Shawnteona L. Harris, 20, of Vancouver.

Voznyak approached the Sonata from behind at a high rate of speed, attempted to make a lane change to pass on the right, lost control of her Prius and hit the Sonata on the right side, according to a state patrol bulletin.

The Sonata was forced into the concrete barrier. Both cars came to a rest on the left shoulder.

Voznyak was transported to a Portland hospital with respiratory problems. Her car sustained an estimated $5,000 in damage. Three passengers in the car reported no injuries.

Harris was taken to PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center with head, neck and back pain. She was treated and released. Her car was totaled.

Voznyak was cited for speeding. Drugs and alcohol were not involved, the patrol said.
