Letter: Tragedy leads to misplaced blame
Tuesday, July 31, 2012
The July 25 AP story "Did alleged shooter exhibit warning signs?" reported that the alleged shooter in the Colorado massacre, James Holmes, received a $26,000 federal grant for living expenses. This financial assistance likely helped him afford the purchase of firearms and ammunition. Perhaps those who want to do away with the Second Amendment might want to consider doing away with federal grants instead?
I grow weary of the politicians and the general public's "knee-jerk" reaction to heinous acts of violence by putting the blame on inanimate objects rather than on the perpetrator. I'm a fat guy. I think I'll start blaming my fork.
