Romo in 10th Cowboys camp, doesn’t seem that long

OXNARD, Calif. (AP) — Tony Romo is in his 10th training camp with the Dallas Cowboys.

There is good reason why it doesn’t really seem like it’s been that long for the three-time Pro Bowl quarterback.

Romo, who was an undrafted rookie free agent from Eastern Illinois in 2003, didn’t become the starter until the middle of his fourth season. He missed most of another season because of a broken collarbone.

Romo guesses he’s only played about 512 seasons in the NFL, and says it feels that way.

This is Romo’s sixth training camp as the starter. That is the same time Jason Garrett has been on the staff. He was offensive coordinator before becoming head coach.

Garrett says Romo has matured as a person, a player and a leader.
