American Lady wins Hollywood Park feature

INGLEWOOD, Calif. (AP) — American Lady defeated Zenidekka by 214 lengths to win Thursday’s $61,032 feature at Hollywood Park.

Ridden by Martin Garcia, American Lady ran 612 furlongs on the synthetic Cushion Track in 1:16.07 and paid $2.60, $2.20 and $2.10 as the 3-10 favorite.

It was the 28th victory by Hall of Famer Bob Baffert in the spring-summer meet, giving him a three-win lead over Mike Mitchell in the trainers’ standings with 12 days remaining.

Zenidekka returned $3.60 and $3, while Evita’s Sister was another half-length back in third and paid $3.60 to show.

The victory was American Lady’s second win in three career starts, with earnings of $77,120.
