WASHINGTON (AP) — Friday night’s game between the Washington Nationals and Atlanta Braves has been postponed by rain.

No immediate makeup date was announced.

That means the Nationals will have to wait at least one more day to get Michael Morse back in the lineup.

Activated from the 15-day disabled list earlier Friday, Morse was scheduled to make his season debut. The hard-hitting outfielder missed 50 games with a strained back muscle.

Morse was in the starting lineup, batting cleanup and in right field.

Stephen Strasburg was scheduled to start for the first-place Nationals against Atlanta’s Mike Minor. Washington entered the game mired in a three-game skid that reduced their lead over second-place Miami to a half-game.
