Boater discovers body in Columbia River near Woodland

A body was recovered from the Columbia River near Woodland on Sunday night.
A boater about 4 p.m. called 911 to report the body.
The Cowlitz County Sheriff’s Office responded along with Cowlitz Fire District 1, Clark County Fire & Rescue and the Cowlitz Dive Rescue Team.
A press release said, “The body has been in the water a long time, likely several months, and it will take forensic methods to determine the identity of the person. We do not know the age, gender, or race at this time.”
