Man killed in Lacey house fire

LACEY, Wash. (AP) — A man who had been trapped in a burning home in Lacey has died.

KIRO-TV reports firefighters rescued the man early Tuesday. He was taken to St. Peter Hospital in Olympia where he died.

A younger man who was in the house when the fire broke out about 2 a.m. escaped. He was taken to the Olympia hospital as a precaution.

Fire Chief Steve Brooks tells KIRO-TV the single family home was in flames when firefighters arrived. They found the victim in about five minutes in a room.
