SPRINGFIELD, Ore. (AP) — Prosecutors say a Eugene man and three teenagers, all white, were in a pickup truck flying a Confederate flag and shouting slurs on Memorial Day as they tried to run down a biracial teenager in a downtown Springfield parking lot.

Now, prosecutors say, the 22-year-old man who drove the truck has been charged with a felony hate crime.

Police told the Eugene Register-Guard (http://bit.ly/Ne7Gty ) the four people in the truck got out and chased the 15-year-old, but he hid in a bush until his mother arrived and took him to the police station.

The felony intimidation charge was filed Monday against Matthew Robert Dean Booster of Eugene.

Police say they arrested two boys, ages 16 and 17, on Thursday and arrested Booster and a 17-year-old girl on Saturday.
