Pedestrian hit by truck, seriously injured
At intersection of Grand and McLoughlin Boulevards
The Vancouver police traffic unit investigate a truck versus pedestrian crash in central Vancouver Tuesday morning. A 50-year-old man was seriously injured in the crash, firefighters said.

A 50-year-old Vancouver man was seriously injured Tuesday morning when he was hit by a truck at the intersection of Grand and McLoughlin boulevards in Vancouver.
Victor O’Malley was crossing the intersection on foot with his dog when the collision occurred at about 9 a.m. He was transported to PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center with serious but not life-threatening injuries, according to a news release. By 8:30 p.m., his condition had been upgraded to satisfactory, according to the hospital. The dog was not injured.
Vancouver firefighters and police responded to the accident.
The driver, Bryan Sutherland, 56, of Vancouver was cited for failing to yield the right of way to a pedestrian in a marked crosswalk, according to the Vancouver police.
