Pearson Field — Josh Staley, an FAA-licensed airframe and power plant expert, is reaching out to deaf people on behalf of Vancouver’s Pearson Air Museum, where he volunteers. Staley, who is deaf, recently spoke (that is, signed) to 50 middle-schoolers at the Oregon School for the Deaf. Staley “impressed us all with the information and knowledge he shared about the history of aviation, airplanes and aerodynamics,” principal Sharla Jones said. “It’s so important to provide good role models to our students, and Josh is a perfect example of a deaf adult who has a passion for a field of study.”
