Letter: Balancing bias is hard thing to do

The Columbian
Published: June 5, 2012, 5:00pm

Tim Groseclose, a professor of political science and economics at UCLA, famously published a book, “Left Turn: How Liberal Media Bias Distorts the American Mind,” about media bias using his well-calculated “Slant Quotients.” On his website are the “SQs” for major and minor news outlets nationwide.

On a scale of 0-100, 0 being extremely conservative and 100 being extremely liberal, The Columbian received a 51.5. This SQ is one of the most unbiased of all news outlets.

I just wanted to thank The Columbian for consistently delivering unbiased news to Clark County. It really is a very hard thing to do.
