LAUSANNE, Switzerland (AP) — Qatar’s soccer association has challenged FIFA at sport’s highest court after forfeiting a London Olympics qualifying match for fielding an ineligible player against Oman.

The Court of Arbitration for Sport will hear the appeal July 11. Its verdict is not expected to affect the London Games tournament that begins July 26.

Qatar fielded midfielder Abdelaziz Hatim in the Oman match that ended in a 1-1 draw last November, despite two yellow cards the player received in previous matches.

FIFA’s disciplinary panel awarded Oman a 3-0 victory and rejected Qatar’s appeal of its decision.

Oman advanced from Asian qualifying, but then lost a playoff against Senegal in April.
