The Vancouver Housing Authority has won a 2012 National Association of Housing and Redevelopment Officials Merit Award for its affordable housing options and education programs.

Its winning project is Camas Ridge Apartments, a 51-unit, mixed-income, multifamily apartment development in Camas. Camas Ridge provides affordable housing units for residents with incomes at or below 50, 60 and 80 percent of the area median income. It also includes market rate units and several dedicated Section 8 voucher units.

Also winning for VHA is its Community Involvement and Employment Program, which allows residents to do community service as a way to build skills and move toward self-sufficiency.
