Letter: Love is boundless

Whether rich or poor, above the law or criminal, special needs or special abilities, despite the breadth of differences every person has a mother who loves him/her. There is evidence, but not proof, that God exists and loves them as much as, or even more than, their mother does.

There are those who claim to have had an out-of-body experience during which they saw a white light that they found all-absorbing, all-satisfying, and totally peaceful. You may have had a wonderful feeling wash over you as you looked out at the sea or down a mountain. The story is that you let your worldly concerns drain away, thus making yourself receptive to communication with God; the lesson is that communicating with God is a two-way street.

Perhaps both mother and God love what is essentially the soul; that it remains pure but partially shushed as it takes up the humanity wrappings with which it has to deal with the potions of pride, perspective, and punishment that a temporary life serves up.

A Bible quote provides for either faith or further consideration: “Blessed are those who have not seen and have believed.”
