TORONTO (AP) — Washington Nationals rookie Bryce Harper returned to the lineup Monday night, one day after he didn’t start because of a sore back.

The 19-year-old Harper came on as a pinch hitter and scored the decisive run as the Nationals beat Boston 4-3 Sunday to complete a three-game sweep. After drawing a walk, Harper scored from first base on a ninth-inning double by Roger Bernadina.

Harper, who has not missed a game since making his major league debut on April 28, started in right field and batted second against Toronto. He hit an RBI single in the first inning and later came around to score on Michael Morse’s sacrifice fly.

The top pick in the 2010 draft, Harper came in batting .282 with six home runs and 17 RBIs.
