Climber dies after Mount Hood fall
Recovery of body under way

A climber died on Mount Hood today after falling approximately 1,000 feet while traversing the 10,000 foot level.
The accident was reported at about 5:20 a.m. by other climbers. According to the Clackamas County, Ore. sheriff's office, the accident occurred on the west side of an area called the Hogsback.
Portland Mountain Rescue and AMR's RAT response team located the victim, and discovered the person had died.
The victim's name, age and gender has not been released.
The rescue teams are now trying to bring the body down from the mountain.
