A Seattle-based company with an office in Vancouver is one of six bidders to remove a dock that landed at Agate Beach, near Newport, Ore., as debris from the 2011 tsunami in Japan.

Ballard Diving & Salvage placed a bid, the Oregon Parks and Recreation Department reported Wednesday. Other bidders, all based in Oregon, are Liquidvision Technology Inc. of Klamath Falls; Cedar Creek Quarries of Newport; Fred Devine Diving & Salvage of Portland; Billeter Marine of Coos Bay; and Statewide Contract Services of Springfield.

OPRD said it would review the bids and issue an update in a couple of days on how and when the work will be done.
