Getz placed on DL for Royals

HOUSTON (AP) -- The Kansas City Royals have placed second baseman Chris Getz on the 15-day disabled list with a strained left leg.

Getz was injured in the first inning of Sunday's 15-inning win over St. Louis while trying to get to a single by Carlos Beltran.

Getz is hitting .290 with eight RBIs and six stolen bases in 36 games this season.

Also Monday, the Royals recalled right-hander Louis Coleman and left-hander Tommy Hottovy from Triple-A Omaha to bolster an overworked bullpen. They optioned right-hander Nate Adcock to Omaha to make room on the roster for Hottovy.
