Camas businesses help boost summer reading drive

The Camas Public Library is working with local businesses to encourage reading among children and adults this summer.

On Tuesday, Twilight Pizza Bistro, 224 N.E. Fourth Ave., will donate 10 percent of proceeds on in-house and to-go orders placed during the entire evening to the Camas Library's Summer Reading Program. The promotion begins at 4 p.m.

Burgerville in Camas, 518 N.E. Third Ave., will donate 10 percent of its proceeds on all orders between 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, July 12, and one week later on July 19.

The library will provide reading programs for children, teens, adults and infants, as well as offer prizes. Last year's Summer Reading Program attracted more than 2,000 participants.

The library also offers free events such as magic and puppet shows, big-screen movies and a book swap, among other activities.
